I'm back... kinda

Well, it has been a shameful amount of time since I last posted and I am not here with a new project but I do have pics I will post of things that I have been doing.  I have been crafting just not talking about it :(
Currently we are in the process of boxing everything up to move again (starting of course with my craft room) but the good news it is not to another country this time, just across town :)

So mid August I will be back and I should be getting my new catalogs anyday and I look forward to sharing projects from that.

See you soon!

Prayer Chart

I have been trying to figure out for months a way to keep track of who is saying the prayers around here.  I don't want there to be fighting about who's turn it is or whining because you are asked to say it.  I just can't remember who said it last, I am happy I remember one needs to be said :)
I purchased a laminating machine a few months back and have been really wanting to laminate something and this is what I came up with.  {Please forgive the bad lighting and weird photo placement of pics!}

I wanted to list the main times we are saying prayers with a word and a picture.  Only one of my kids is currently reading so I needed pictures to go along with my titles of Morning, Lunch, Dinner and Night.
Problem was finding stamps for lunch and dinner.  Apparently my stamp collection is not big on food items which I am looking to fix which my husband is super happy about it. {Written very sarcastically in case you could not tell.}  Once I get my new stamps I am sure I will change it and I might change it based on season.
Right now the fruit works for lunch because that is what my kids like to eat a lot of mid day and the cup works for dinner because it is winter and we are having lots of soup.

The only step left is to get some Velcro circles to put on the chart and attach to the back of the pictures. My plan is to take the picture off at night and keep them in a bag.  Each morning I will pull them out one at a time and the order I pull the pictures will determine who is saying what prayer.  I am sure adjustments will be needed down the road but I am happy to have a plan in place.

Star Wars Party Project

So we recently had a 7th Birthday Party with a Star Wars theme and I scoured Pinterest for ideas.  One of the big things was the food.  No longer are the party elite just throwing out some chips in bowl and calling it good.  Oh no... we are getting crafty with our food and getting crafty with labeling our food.  I love it and think it is ridiculous all at the same time.  The photos are not great or complete but it was a little bit of a rush to even get those :)

At our party we had:

Yoda Soda (Green Capri Suns due to food allergies but it is suppose to be lime sherbert in Sprite)
CP3O H20 (Water)
Yum Blaters (Hot Dogs)
Padme Pasta (Pasta Salad)
Vader Potaters (Chips)
Veggie Sabers (Cucumber and Carrot Sticks)
Droid Dip (Ranch & Hummus)
Edible Ewoks (Gummy Bears)
Padawan Popcorn (Popcorn)
Light Side/Dark Side Cake (Chocolate Cake with 1/2 chocolote frosting 1/2 vanilla frosting)

We had a Bouncy Castle and a decorate your own light saber station.

To make the food tags, thank you's, bookmarks and trail mix tags I used:  Reach for the Stars Stamp Set by Close to My Heart with the colors:  Moonstruck, Pear & Sunkiss Yellow, White Daisy.  For the trail mix bags I used my Xyron Sticker Maker to attach the labels to the bags.

I'm back and ready to craft !!

Well we are finally getting settled  & I completed my craft room yesterday and cannot wait to get started on making projects asap!
I am setting some goals to get caught up and to keep up with crafting.  My goals are:
    - One layout or two cards per week
    - One non scrapbooking project per month {sewing, etc,}
    - I will be picking one stamp set per week to use on my paper crafts
    - Blog once per week with a completed project

I have sooooo many ideas and so many supplies it is past time to get serious and get some stuff done!
I encourage you to set a goal if you are not getting the projects done you want to do!

Come back next week to see Project and Layout Number one completed :)
